The La Sportiva Aequilibrium ST GTX is a lightweight, technical and crampon compatible boot for mixed terrain, via ferrata, trekking, glacier crossings and so on. It looks pretty striking, with a pronounced double-wedge "cuban heel" style sole that looks like it should stop you tobogganing off down the hill in wet or snowy conditions, and allows a smoother rolling action when you walk, reducing muscle fatigue. The Trango Tower GTX is an excellent multi-purpose lightweight boot for via ferrata, mountaineering or alpine hiking either above or below the snowline.
