Black Diamond Aspect Climbing Shoes

Created for cracks and slabs, the Aspect is an engineered trad climbing machine. Designed with fine, durable leather, Black Diamond's innovative proprietary moulded rubber and an Engineered Knit Technology tongue, this flat-lasted, slightly asymmetrical lace-up will stick with you for all day cragging sessions.

The high grade leather upper slightly covers the laces on the outside of the foot for protection during abrasive jamming. The tongue is made from Black Diamond's Engineered Knit Technology, to add breathability and comfort, and extends to the outside of the shoe to just under the rand line to offer extra padded protection for foot jams. The lateral stabiliser rands increase precision by keeping your foot from rolling when pressure is applied to the outside or inside edges. The stiff and durable moulded rubber optimises the shoe's rubber and rands for weight, consistency and comfort.

  • Neutral, flat last for all day cragging comfort
  • 4.3mm rubber is purpose-built for edging and moulded for optimal consistency and performance
  • Engineered Knit Technology tongue provides exceptional breathability, comfort and extra padding for crack climbing
  • Internal Lace Protection System for crack climbing
  • Medium-flex midsole adds support without sacrificing sensitivity
  • Lateral stabiliser rands increase precision by keeping your foot from rolling over when pressure is applied to the outside or inside edges
  • Highest grade European leather upper

NB: Shoe sizing is one of those unstandardised hangovers that still trouble the decimal world.  Everyone uses a number to indicate the length of the shoe, but some countries base it on the shoe length and some on the length of the foot in it. Sizes start from 0 or 1, some systems also use the foot width and some regions have different sizes for the genders, too. To general bemusement, UK sizes are based on the length of the last used to make the shoes, measured in barleycorn, or ⅓ inch. For more delightfully anachronistic information on foot measurement, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoe_size. Alternatively, we have used the "best compromise solution" above.
