The Petzl Ergonomic is designed mainly for steep ice and dry tooling, but it's also at home on less extreme terrain too. The sharp angle of the handle is ideal for prolonged hanging and increases power when pulling. The double handle offers multiple grip modes and stable hand switching. The DRY pick optimises inverted positions due to the teeth on the top of the pick. Massolette pick weights make penetration in ice easier and facilitate slotting of the pick into cracks. Also included is the Mini Marteau hammer, to protect the head when hammering pitons or hexes into cracks.
The Ergonomic is entirely modular and can be configured for the requirements at hand - stripped to the minimum for pure drytooling you can get the weight down to just 550g per axe.
