It combines a 3-hole rigging plate with a twin-gate locking karabiner, and has the potential to simplify many different belay set-ups. Use it with the rigging holes down if you need to attach multiple people/belay devices/pulleys to one central point, withut having everything squash up together. Or use it with the rigging holes upwards to link multiple anchors into one. The twingate locking system is starting to catch on, it's simple to use and always auto-locked, unlike a screwgate. A very useful piece of kit for riggers and big-wall climbers.

£20.00Incl. 20% TaxThe Candela is a very lightweight all-in-one tool for making Abalakov ice anchors. After creating two holes with an ice screw, the Candela can be used to push the core of ice out of the screw. The soft plastic will not damage the finish on the inside of the screw. Then the sharp hook can be unfolded from the Candela and be used to push and the pull cord or tape through the Abalakov anchor. Excess tat can then be cut using the integrated saw toothed blade. When you are finished with it, it can be stored inside any 22cm ice screw or clipped to your harness.

Not 1, not 2, but 3 gates!. The Twingate locking system looks weird and takes a bit of getting used to, but after a couple of minutes you'll realise it's very practical, quick to use and always auto-locks. A little third gate at the base keeps the Clepsydra karabiner correctly positioned on your belay loop, and (unlike some other brands who use a similar system) is correctly orientated.
