Andalucia: guia de escalada deportiva (sport climbing guide)
David Munilla
This is the definitive rock climbing and sports climbing guidebook to the Andalucia area of southern Spain. The guidebook features over 30 separate rock climbing areas, including El Chorro, and many crags around the cities of Granada, Sevilla, Jaen, Cordoba, Cadiz and Malaga. In total there are over 3,600 routes described across a wide range of grades.
This comprehensive guidebook describes many climbing areas in great detail, including all the main rock climbing areas in El Chorro (over 600 routes). Also included are other major crags and climbing areas in Andalucia such as Desplomilandia and Turon near Malaga; Los Cahorros and Loja near Granada; Espiel near Cordoba; and San Bartolo near Cadiz.
At the start of each crag there is a location map, plus symbols indicating the type of rock, best time of the year & day to climb, type of bolts, style of climbing to be found, and if the routes are single or multi-pitch along with their maximum height. All the routes are shown on topo diagrams with the French grades. The guidebook has several colour photographs, which convey the great diversity of the rock climbing on offer in the Andalucia region of Spain.
