bluesign is a voluntary initiative which evaluates textiles based on five criteria: resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety. Based in Switzerland, they use independent auditors to cover the entire production process from raw materials to finished product. There are many elements to the bluesign standard, but if a fabric or facility has been certified then you can be sure that it causes no unnecessary environmental or human damage and is contributing towards a sustainable textile industry. |
