One device to do it all, the new ATC-Guide is a truly full-function belay device offering the most versatility of any device on the market: dual-friction belay and rappel modes and a Guide Mode for belaying one or two seconding climbers. In Guide Mode it locks if someone falls. Plus, due to the release point, you have the ability to lower a climber regardless of weight differences between the climber and belayer.
It's capable of handling ropes from 7.7 mm to 11 mm in a variety of adverse situations and it's now lighter than ever due to the windows that have been machined out of the side of the device. Also now features an enlarged auto block release hole that will take a small carabiner. The auto block release is essential if you wish to lower a climber hanging on the rope when the device is in guide mode. The enlarged hole has done away with the need to thread a small bit of tat or sling through this hole and makes the device much more functional.
