Storm

The Storm is the latest in a long line of innovative designs by Boreal. The Storms lacing/Velcro closure system is unique. A Velcro tab is connected to cord that is pulled tight via the one Velcro tab closure. The cord length can be adjusted which means that once this has been set, getting the boots on and off is easy. No more loosening/retightening whether with Velcro or with laces on these boots every time you take them off. Once the fit is set then the Velcro tab will put the boot right back to this set level of tightness every time the boot goes on.

In terms of shape the Storm is also fairly unique. The heel is small and does not go a long way up the back of the ankle at all (take note if you often have problems with boots that cut into the back of your ankle). The sole shape is also slightly different to many of its competitor boots. The boot shape is arched under the arch of your foot but then goes flat with a sole that is quite rigid. Many boots that are arched under the arch of the foot continue in a banana shape like this right until the toe. The Storms are shaped with the heal dropping down but the rest of the boot being flat. Ideal for a multitude of climbing uses.
